Today is Chocolate Chip Day! This yummy holiday can be celebrated by baking a variety of cookies or cakes, adding chocolate chip toppings to ice cream, or by simply eating them on their own. For those of you who want to whip up some scrumptious treats for the holiday, here are some great recipes to try courtesy of Select Registry’s bed and breakfast:

First up, the tried-and-true chocolate chip cookies. With a prep time of only 15 minutes and a cook time of 10 minutes, chocolate chip cookies are good if you’re going to be baking with little ones since they don’t have to pay attention for too long. The recipe from Glynn House Inn Bed & Breakfast not only has chocolate chips, but it also calls for a grated 9oz Hershey bar to add a little more chocolate! Sound delicious? Find the recipe here.

What can top the combination of chocolate and peanut butter? Nothing, which is why you should make peanut butter chocolate chip cookies in honor of Chocolate Chip Day. These melt-in-your-mouth cookies come from Pilgrim’s Inn Bed & Breakfast in Deer Isle, Maine. The recipe recommends using 1 ½ cups of chocolate chips or to taste, which means you might as well use the whole bag! Follow this link for the ingredients and instructions.

If peanut butter and chocolate isn’t your thing then maybe triple chocolate cookies are more your style? Despite the name, these cookies are a little on the healthier side since it calls for whole wheat flour and has pecans for a little bit of added protein. The recipe needs to be modified slightly if you want to use it for Chocolate Chip Day; milk and dark chocolate chips need to be substituted for the coarsely chopped dark chocolate and milk chocolate. This chocolate lover’s dream cookie is courtesy of The Buttonwood Inn on Mt. Surprise in New Hampshire and can be found here.
