Grand County, Colorado is a tourist destination year round for those looking for a winter getaway. There is plenty to do in Grand County, from enjoying the slopes to taking a casual stroll through the shopping district. Coming in 2016, Grand County will have a concert series showcasing a variety of new music groups. The concert series, named Grand County Concert Series (GCCS) will showcase six concerts throughout January 2016 to March 2016.logocolor

These musicians come from all over, including Chicago, Los Angeles, Russia, and Venezuela. The president of the concert series, Judy Baxter said, according to Sky-Hi News, “We are thrilled to bring them to Grand County to perform for our residents and guests.”

Season ticket purchases, local businesses, governments, and organizations, as well as donors, are credited to making this concert series in Grand County possible. Tickets are on sale now for $90 for the entire series, including several benefits that come with the ticket purchase. Guests can also buy single concert tickets for $20. Those who purchase a ticket will recieve discounts at local restaurants that have partnered with the concert series. Ticket holders will also be entered into a drawing to win a piece of art donated by Artist Pem Dunn.

The artist line-up for the 2016 GCCS includes:

Ashu

Ashu is an American saxophone soloist. He is known for performing his solo concerts around the world, and will be making a stop to Grand County, Colorado this January. He has performed throughout Europe, Canada, the U.S., Russia, South Africa, New Zealand, Switzerland, Kyrgzstan, Poland, and many more. Ashu has been praised for having very charasmatic performances.

William Hume

William Hume is a famous concerto soloist and recitalist. He is known for his orchestral performances, which have included famous names in his pieces, including Mozart, Bach, and Grieg. He has performed on NPR’s program “From the Top,” and has recieved many recognitions for his music and performances.

Vanessa Perez

This Venezuelan-American pianist is famous for her level of musical perception and artistic awareness. She has become an international icon, and has played in concert venues throughout the United States. Her skill and musical knowledge is moving and beautiful to hear. Listen to her play here.

Poulenc Trio

What do you get when you combine the oboe, a bassoon, and the piano? This camber music trio is a famous ensemble throughout the world. The three have performed in 45 states in the United States. They have begun touring with Liang Wang, an oboe player.

Fandango

This is one of Chicago’s most exciting musical groups. The four musicians in this group bring together a mix of music, including Latin, Spanish, Sephardic, Balkan, and other classical sounds. This multi-award-winning group combines flute, violin, guitar, and cello to bring listeners the sound of something truly remarkable and beautiful.

St. Petersburg String Quartet & Tao Lin

This is one of the world’s leading strict quartets, including Tao Lin on the piano, to make this a beautiful quintet. This a Grammy nominated quartet that has played in a number of chamber music competitions. Hearing them live is truly a treat.
