While in Edenton, North Carolina there are a number of attractions to see and things to do. If you are only in town for a short period of time, there may not be time to see it all. Knowing which attractions are the best can help you decide which ones you would like to make sure you see.
1. Edenton Bay Cruise

Take a cruise on an electric boat. The captain of the boat gives you a great tour and provides some interesting historic details about the area. This is coupled with getting a unique view of the town.

2. Queen Anne Park

Queen Anne Park is a great place to visit while in Edenton. They have a small playground for the kids to play and picnic tables giving you a great place for a picnic. There are also benches where you can sit and relax while taking in the beautiful scenery. The highlight of Queen Anne Park is the historic and renovated Roakoke River Lighthouse. You can go inside and take a peek at what a working lighthouse looks like.

3. Barker House

The Barker House is a great place to learn about some of the history of the area as well as the house. It has been nicely preserved to look the way it had many years ago. There is a porch with rocking chairs that face the water giving you a great place to sit and relax while taking in the magnificent view. A gift shop gives you the opportunity to buy books relating to the history of Edenton as well as other gifts.

4. Trolley Tour

If you are looking for a great way to take in the scenery and view of the town while learning more about it, then this tour is for you. This tour is a guided tour that will take you through the Historic District then to the Edenton Cotton Mill as well as the Mill village. Since the tour is guided, you will be given historic bits of information about the different houses and places as you go by. You will also be given information about the different people that have helped shape Edenton into what it is today.

5. The Taylor Theater

Although this theater is small, it is the perfect place to go and watch a movie. It is a small and historic looking building that fits in well with the historic town. You can relax and watch a high quality movie without having to fight through the lines you would at many other theaters.
