Lake Michigan Shore’s Wine Country is home to some of the best wines across the globe due to the “lake effect.” The unique climate around that area of Michigan is great for growing grapes, and it resembles the same climate that is perfect for growing wine. Michigan wine has become so popular over time that people buy Michigan wine online from all over the world. Discover what the buzz is about by visiting these seven Southwest Michigan Wineries.

Hickory Creek Winery – Located in the “largest non-citrus fruit producing area in North America” is the Hickory Creek Winery that offers European styled wine to compliment their food. Because of its pristine location, this winery always offers handcrafted wine to its guests. Hickory Creek Winery has $8 tasting for six wines.

St. Julian Winery – This is Michigan’s oldest winery and is also a family business. After 95 years of being in business, St. Julian Winery is still going strong and is always releasing new wines. St. Julian Winery has four locations throughout Michigan and wine tasting is offered at all four locations. They have ciders, red wines, white wines, pink wines, sparkling wines, dessert wines, spirits, and non alcoholic beverages.

Free Run Cellars – This winery is ran by two men with a mission to give wine making a twist by always thinking of unique ways to make wine. At Free Run Cellars, they give guests wine tasting in a boutique like style, giving each guest a personal wine tasting experience.

Tabor Hill Winery & Restaurant – With its great location for wine making and its exceptional staff, Tarbor Hill Winery & Restaurant makes great wines. They offer walking tours through the vineyard for guests to see how the wine is created. Tarbor Hill Winery and Restaurant has dry wines, semi-dry wines, non-alcoholic, sparkling wines, and dessert wines.

Lazy Ballerina Winery – Guests indulge in a comfortable setting for eating and wine tasting at Lazy Ballerina Winery, run by two cousins. This winery offers weekday specials, including wine and craft night that is every Tuesday from 6pm-8pm. Lazy Ballerina Winery also has a range of events that happen throughout the year. Guests are able to try and buy white wine, rosé, red wine, fruit wine, and non-alcoholic wine.

Karma Vista Vineyards – Located in Coloma, MI, is Karma Vista Vineyard. They offer a beautiful setting for guests to taste red, white, and sweet wine. A unique thing about this winery is that the family behind the business has been growing fruit since 1847, but the vineyard didn’t open until 2002.

Dablon Vineyards Winery & Tasting Room – This winery is in the perfect location on Lake Michigan Shore Wine Country allowing the growth of exceptional grapes in a long growing season throughout 28 acres of land. Dablon Vineyards Winery and Tasting Room has a sister company in Chicago. Come and enjoy their high quality small batch wines that they produce.
